Welcome Letter

When we first came together to host two global conferences—one just before COVID-19 and one during—we had no idea the impact they would have. Those gatherings reached educators around the world at a moment when our schools, communities, and systems were being tested in very different ways. And yet, through it all, we held tightly to our professional learning.

We were inspired—not only by the knowledge shared but by the resilience of educators who continued to push for research to be translated into practice, even in the most uncertain of times. That spirit of perseverance and commitment is what ultimately gave rise to the International MTSS Association (IMA).

Today, I feel both privileged and honored to work alongside such an esteemed group of colleagues in launching this new nonprofit. Together, we are committed to:

• Building capacity in every state and every country to strengthen tiered systems of support

• Providing greater access to high-quality professional development that is both practical and grounded in evidence

• Partnering with publishers and private organizations to ensure research shapes the products and tools schools use every day

• Launching a new global journal to advance and disseminate MTSS research worldwide

Our mission is bold, but so is our belief in the power of educators and leaders working together. Whether you join us as a member, support us through critical sponsorships, or simply stay connected as our organization evolves, we invite you to be part of this community.
