JMTSS Editorial Policies
Peer Review Process: The journal uses a double-anonymous peer review process, requiring at least two independent reviewers per manuscript. Final decisions are made by the Co-Editors, based on reviewer feedback and recommended decisions made by the Associate Editors.
Acceptance Criteria: Significance, originality, methodological rigor, and clarity of implications for research and practice
Appeals: Authors may appeal editorial decisions in writing to the Co-Editors within 30 days
Publication Ethics: JMTSS follows COPE and APA Publication Ethics standards for retractions, corrections, and authorship disputes.
Open Access: Articles will be published under Open Journal Systems (OJS) and hosted on the IMA website.
JMTSS Co-Editors
Establish and uphold the journal vision, scope, and editorial standards
Oversee the peer review process and make final publication decisions
Uphold the IMA commitment to diversity and inclusion through the identification and selection of Reviewers and Associate Editors by considering international geographic regions, cultural, racial, disability and linguistic groups.
Represent JMTSS in strategic initiatives, professional forums, outreach and partnerships
Ensure timely communication with authors, reviewers, and Associate Editors
Associate Editors (AEs)
Coordinate the peer review process for assigned manuscripts
Provide editorial recommendations to Co-Editors based on review feedback
Ensure timely communication with authors, reviewers, and Co-Editors
Facilitate reviewer development through supportive feedback
IMA Research Subcommittee
Offer occasional statistical or methodological expertise to Co-Editors in editorial decisions
Advocate for inclusive authorship and ethical research practices
Serve as ambassadors for the journal within professional networks and communities
Advise on emerging research and methodological areas and special issue themes
JMTSS Editorial Board
Conduct peer reviews aligned to their areas of expertise
Contribute to reviewer training and calibration sessions
Support the journal’s mission to bridge research and practice
