Look What We Built Together

In one year, the International MTSS Association grew from an idea into a global professional community connecting educators, researchers, leaders, partners, and advocates around one shared vision:

A world in which every student succeeds through high-quality education.

Why IMA Exists

This Started With One Question.

What if every educational leader had access to the people, research, expertise, and support they needed to build better systems for students?

IMA was created to help make that possible.

We are building a professional home that connects research and practice, removes disciplinary silos, strengthens leadership, and makes high-quality expertise more accessible to educators and systems around the world.

In Year One, that idea became a community.

The Global MTSS Summit

450+ People. One Integrated Field.

In July 2026, more than 450 people gathered in San Francisco for the inaugural IMA Global Summit, with more than 100 additional participants joining virtually.

Researchers learned alongside practitioners.

School teams learned alongside district, regional, and state leaders.

Experts across literacy, mathematics, behavior, SEL, mental health, early childhood, assessment, implementation, leadership, and special education came together around one shared goal:

Building stronger systems for students.

More than an Event

The Advisory Council

25+ Countries. One Increasingly Connected Field.

IMA was intentionally created as an international association.

Our goal is not simply to grow larger.

It is to become better connected.

As we move into Year Two, IMA is expanding its global network while also strengthening its national presence and creating opportunities for research, practice, systems leadership, and policy to inform one another.

Local knowledge. National connection. Global learning.

Year One Proved the Idea.

Year Two Builds the Field.

In Year Two, our #1 priority is bringing greater clarity to the field—while dramatically expanding the community, resources, connections, and infrastructure needed to support high-quality MTSS implementation.

2,500+ → 10,000+

Imagine what a connected community of 10,000 educators, researchers, practitioners, leaders, and partners can accomplish together.

Support IMA’s Next Chapter

$450,000+ Raised in Year One.

The first year was about creating the foundation.

The next is about sustainability.

IMA is building multiple reliable revenue streams through professional learning, events, partnerships, philanthropy, and mission-aligned initiatives.

Our goal is to build sufficient sustainable revenue to recruit IMA's next Executive Director in spring 2027 and continue evolving from a founder-led startup into an enduring international association.

We are building an organization designed to outlast any one person.

What Will We Build Together Next?

More than 2,500 people have already joined us.

Now we invite you to take your next step.

A world in which every student succeeds through high-quality education.
